The Landemer celebrates its 150-year anniversary
 

150 years. A great age, certainly, but above all the ideal occasion to give itself a complete facelift, which its new owners have undertaken with great care throughout 2013 and 2014. As a result, the Landemer is today reborn, whilst not forgetting its past, and opens its new panoramic conservatory in the magical light of the Cotentin. Everything has been re-thought in depth to reflect new standards and demands from a charmingly discrete and very French, luxury hotel, without affecting the individual character of its large, thick walls and shale roof, characteristic of the Hague.

What interesting stories lie in the history of the Landemer. They prelude, a sign of its age, what will later become the chic seaside resort of Urville, under the rule of Alexandre Fontanes, Cherbourgeois, director of the Chatelet Theatre, who wanted to turn it into a second Deauville. The Landemer was already full in this, the turn of the 20th century, to the point where it had to grow in a short space of time. Was it the close presence of the Vian family, or the Princess of Spain, or even later, the discrete comings and goings of Edith and Marcel? In any case, the Landemer, which today celebrates its 150-year anniversary, retains its special character through its history.
